“rocks, flowers, dates.”

we’ll grow to stone,
reaching up through
the garden, leaving
little placards of names,
dates, and deeds.
cultivate the narrative
with flowers, lilted
prose and pre-aged
marble faces. wonder
if we’ll be broken too,
one day.
